Now that your braces are off, retainers will prevent your teeth from shifting back toward their original position. You need to wear your retainers as instructed by the doctor. If your retainers feel tight, this means you need to be more consistent with wearing them!
Your retainers should be cleaned before and after you wear them, gently brush them with toothpaste and rinse under cool water. Don't wear your retainers while eating, chewing gum, or drinking hot drinks.
Please keep your retainers away from family pets. Never place your retainers in a napkin or on your lunch tray. Never place your retainers in your pants pocket or book bag, unless they are in the case. You should also never expose your retainers to excessive heat. If you break or lose your retainers, you should call us as soon as possible! Make sure you bring your retainers with you for all appointments!
