To practice as an orthodontist, a dentist must successfully complete several years of additional training in an orthodontic program accredited by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Our doctors are all specialists and active members of the AAO as well as the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists and the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists.
Steven M. Siegel, D.M.D.
Dr. Siegel earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooklyn College and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1980. He received his certificate in orthodontics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Upon graduation from dental school, he served as a commissioned officer in the United States Public Health Service. Prior to becoming an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Siegel was in the private practice of general dentistry with his wife, Mindy, who is also a dentist.
Dr. Siegel is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association. Over the past 20 years, he has been a member of the Johns Hopkins Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Rehabilitation Team.
Dr. Siegel is an assistant clinical professor faculty member in the University of Maryland School of Dentistry post-graduate orthodontic department. He is past-president of both the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists and the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists. He currently serves as trustee of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Siegel and his wife live in Reisterstown. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his three sons, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.
Sara Batouli, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Batouli earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago with honors in 2001, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2007, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She then obtained her Master of Science degree and orthodontic certificate at the University of Maryland Dental School in 2010. Prior to and during dental school, Dr. Batouli was involved in various research projects at the National Institutes of Health, regarding dental stem cells. Her research has been published in both the Journal of Dental Research and The Lancet.
Dr. Batouli is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, the Maryland State Society of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. She currently resides in Ellicott City and when she is not practicing orthodontics, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family.
